Whirlwind of Busyness

Can anyone relate?  I’m sure you can.  Seems that 2009 has been like a flash of light.  Wow it’s been busy.  This last two weeks has been the great crescendo of busyness.  But all is good, God is gracious and I can see the dust beginning to settle.

This year has been wonderful.  We gave birth to our daughter, Maci Grace, which of course has been the highlight.  Amanda and I had our 8th year anniversary of marriage, Owen Daniel took off walking, we laid our beloved Malachi (family Great Dane) to rest and we moved.  On top of that I traveled to 12 cities in 3 different countries.

As many of you know about a month or so ago we sold our house and bought some property, a beautiful 5-acre piece of land.  We landed our closing date a week ago, last Wednesday the 28th of October.  The buyers of our house moved in at 5pm that day and we were ready, so we thought :)

We moved out on time but the place we bought wasn’t vacated yet.  They needed a couple days more.  So Amanda, me and the kids got a hotel for two nights while our stuff was in storage.  What made it a bit chaotic was the fact that on that Friday we were all going out of town for 4 days.  We got possession of the property at 8:30am on Friday and we were leaving town at 10:30am :)

We got back into town the following Tuesday.  We hurried to get some sleeping quarters set up while we rummaged through the storage finding our stuff.  The carpet was torn out, interior doors off the hinges to be painted, and light and plug-in fixtures exposed while walls and ceilings were prepped to be painted.

But praise God this weekend we’ll be settled.  New paint, new carpet, land to roam around on, washer and dryer hooked up, food in the fridge and even grandparents visiting to help with the kiddos.  See, God is gracious and all always settles.

Just thought I’d give you a peek into our world.

Be blessed,

Wes
