Sensitive this Thanksgiving

Our family had a great Thanksgiving this year.  We hosted nearly 25 people at our home for a day of great food and hanging out till late in the evening.  Both of our families came from IL, several friends and we also had some new friends that just moved from Hawaii to IHOP-KC over as well.  Amanda and I found a meat-smoking place just down the road so we took our turkey there to be smoked for three days over hickory logs… WOW… it was some amazing turkey.  Throughout the day I postured my heart to take in the friends and family that surrounded me and I was overwhelmed with the Spirit impressing the goodness of the Lord upon my heart.  I’m so blessed to have such god-fearing people in this community (IHOP-KC) and in my family as well.  Thank you Abba.  He’s blessed us and for it I’m deeply grateful. Today we celebrated my son’s first birthday and more friends and family came over again.  And yes, once again I was so moved in my heart of how much love and faithfulness the Lord has touched my family with.  I will set my heart to love Him… because He’s first loved me.  Over this weekend I encourage you to slow down and take some time to reflect and see the details of the faithfulness of God.  We will eternally give Him thanks as He unfolds to us for all eternity the length and depth of His love and faithfulness to us.  Be blessed, Wes

One more thing…

We just found out we’re having a baby girl !!!!!!!!!

We’re so pumped we can hardly stand it!

Amen

Happy Thanksgiving

Be blessed tomorrow.  Take some time and reflect.  Think about all that you’ve been given… physically, spiritually, emotionally, socially… He’s been good to us.  We’re undeserving but He’s good.

We’re having about 25 people here at our house tomorrow.  I have my family in town and Amanda has her mom and dad coming as well.  We have several friends from here at IHOP-KC coming too.  We’re looking forward to it.

Report from Onething Calgary, Alberta Canada

The weekend went really well overall.  It was cold!  I think on SAT it was 4 degrees.  We clearly preached the forerunner calling, the 2nd coming, the prayer and fasting movement and wholehearted intimacy with God.  The messages were super clear and we all felt the Lord gave witness.  The worship was great!  Tim, Luke and the team blessed the Lord and led the conference into His presence.  I had such a great time with the Onething Team.  We run with such godly people.  They’re really going after the Lord both here at IHOP-KC, on the road, on and off the stage.  I was blessed to be in such good company once again.  This was the last Onething Regional Conference for 2008.  We host our National conference over New Years here in KC.  We’re expecting 10,000-15,000 young adults.  In 2008 Onething went to Sacramento, Seattle, Orlando, Jerusalem, LA, Mexico, Ft. Wayne, Minneapolis, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Calgary.  Be blessed,Wes

Calgary Canada

A year has flown by so fast and I’m up here in Calgary, Alberta Canada once again.  I’m serving with the Onething Team from IHOP-KC.  We flew in today and the conference we’re leading begins tomorrow.  Pray for us.  We’ll be bringing the Word to the Church here in Calgary concerning the times of increasing immorality and the urgent response of Believers that MUST happen.  A response of fasting and prayer for breakthrough of mercy and justice in the land.  I’m preaching tomorrow night on the message of God raising up messengers who really have heavenly authority on their lives to shift the direction of the church in their city and their nation.  On Saturday I’m preaching specifically on the 2nd coming of Jesus to the planet.  Thank you for praying.  Wes

Peace when there is no peace.

Today at our Forerunner Christian Fellowship service (FCF) Lou Engle brought a very alerting word to the Prayer Movement and the Body of Christ across the Nation.  He brought to our attention that many within the Church Leadership of America are calling for peace after the election results have come in and Barak Obama has been elected as our next president.  His comment to us was ‘how we can we have peace when the most radical pro-abortion candidate in American history has just been voted into office by the American people?’  This is a very terrible day for the human beings yet to be born and inside their mother’s womb.  It is not a time for peace but a time for radical pursuit of the Kingdom of God in request to invade American soil.  We must have constant ‘Solemn Assemblies’ of prayer led by Church Leadership for the entire term of our newly elected president.  When a moral crisis of this magnitude hits a nation this is the only Biblical Prescription… humble yourselves and beseech the King of Heaven to come down.  In this time of American History when confusion on human life and marriage is at hand the Church must have bold clarity on what God is saying.  We must be courageous in our love as we stand for Truth with no compromise.  I encourage you to go the IHOP-KC website and listen to the teaching today in any of the three FCF services.  May the Lord stir our hearts, Wes

Report from weekend:

We were in Syracuse, NY Friday-Sunday this past weekend ministering at a college ministry conference.  There were several campuses in attendance… somewhere around 450 students and leaders.  The Lord moved on the hearts of the people in a powerful way.  We gave two clear messages about the urgency of the hour in which we live and the proper biblical response to God because of the hour of crisis.  It is critical that the Church in America responds to God with the Joel 2 call of fasting, weeping and mourning.  We must give our primary energies in life during this hour to seeking God for help in our land.  Immorality is increasing, anti-God legislation is being passed and natural disasters are  being ignored.  All along most of the American church is passive and/or participating in the delusion of the land.  I was pleased to see a very sincere and costly response from many believers in the NE part of the country.  On Saturday night nearly 200 responded to give themselves in a devoted way to a lifestyle of fasting, prayer and searching God’s Word for what He is speaking to our Nation at this time.  A call to study the theme of the ‘Day of the Lord’ in the Bible.  A message we must know and preach.  We returned home late on Sunday and Owen and Amanda both got really sick for the next 4 days.  I sensed it was counter attack from the enemy.  We prayed and bless God the sickness finally broke last night and early this morning.  Please keep my family in prayer as we go about the Kingdom of Light.  Wes, Amanda, Owen and our coming baby that’s in the womb :)  Be blessed, Wes

Syracuse, NY

I’ll be flying to Syracuse, New York this weekend to speak to about 500 college students at a college ministry conference known as Basic.  Basic is a college campus based ministry that touches several campuses in the North East.  Luke Wood, a worship leader from here at the House of Prayer in KC, and a few of his team will be coming as well.  I’m excited that Amanda and Owen are coming too!  Luke and his little guy, Elliot, plus his wife Leah are coming and his drummer, Ben, his wife Sarah and their little girl, Isabel.  It’s going to be a fun plane ride :)  All the babies are within months apart in age. Pray for us.

Back from the Rockies

I returned yesterday from the Rocky Mountains in South Central Colorado near Gunnison.  We were in the San Juan Mountains (Alpine Trail) just outside of a little mountain town by the name of Lake City.  Myself with my dad and four other men from the Southern IL area (co-workers with my dad) ventured on a five-day elk hunt.  We packed in a few miles with mules carrying most of our gear and found our home in a big Outfitter’s Tent with a propane burner, a small mess table, a wood stove and six cots.  This would be our home for the next six days and six nights :)  It was a true mountain-man experience to say the least.  When we came out I couldn’t wait for a long, hot shower.  We were able to harvest one elk.  I came up short myself but the experience of being there with godly men and chasing elk nearly every day was well worth it.  We had big bulls bugling around us nearly every day.  On one occasion I called back and forth with a big 5×5 bull for nearly 40 minutes.  It was a fabulous morning.  I also got a few shots off at nice bull but came up short… he was 450 yards away!  It’s good to be back and I’m looking forward to locking back in with work here at the Base.  Be blessed, Wes

Midwest Fall (Part two)

There are a few leaves beginning to change.  The weather has definitely settled in.  It’s been beautiful and very pleasant here in KC.  Most days in the mid 70s and nights in the 50s.  It’s best sleeping with the windows open.  Amanda made a big pot of chili this weekend and I even tossed some football around this afternoon.  One thing I love about this part of the year is hunting season.  From the time I was 11 years old the Fall weather breaking in meant deer season was approaching and that meant time with my brother and my dad in the woods.  What awesome memories I have!  When I got a little older and began hunting on my own (14) I would go spend a few days with my grandparents who lived out in the country and had great hunting all around their house.  Early in the morning my grandpa would get me up, cook me breakfast and tell the best hunting stories ever.  It was fantastic.  My family has been around the sport of hunting for as long as I can remember.  We have so many great stories and such deep fellowship spent on roadtrips to Colorado, early mornings around breakfast, driving the country roads and scouting the best places to pursue wild game.  I’ll drop a story or two from time to time.  But for now, this brings me to the time of preparing for another hunting story that I’ll have in about 10 days time.  That’s right :)  My dad and a few buddies are driving from IL on Tuesday to pick me up here in KC as we head on towards the San Juan Mountains of South Central Colorado.  We’ll be elk hunting for 5 days and 5 nights as we camp up in the mountains and rough it for a bit.  I can hardly wait!  I love this time of year… thank you Jesus!  Be blessed, be grateful, Wes
